Overview
As the school's Writing Program Site Trainer, I served as the primary point of contact for the implementation of a district-wide writing initiative. My role was to support teachers and administrators by providing training, developing supplemental resources, and helping ensure consistent implementation across grade levels.
Successfully introducing a new instructional program requires more than presenting information. It involves clear communication, ongoing support, and the ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of different audiences. Throughout the school year, I worked alongside school leadership to help teachers navigate the implementation process and build confidence in using the program.
My Role
I facilitated professional development sessions using a combination of district-provided materials and resources I developed to better support our staff. Throughout implementation, I served as a resource for teachers by answering questions, creating supplemental materials, and providing ongoing guidance as they incorporated the writing framework into their classrooms.

Reflection
Serving as a Writing Program Site Trainer strengthened my ability to communicate complex information in a way that was practical, approachable, and responsive to different audiences. Every teacher brought different experiences and questions, which challenged me to adapt my communication style, create meaningful resources, and provide support that met individual needs. The experience reinforced that successful implementation depends not only on strong planning, but also on building trust, encouraging collaboration, and maintaining open communication throughout the process.
Outcome
Our school was awarded the Community Schools grant, providing funding to expand Whole Child supports and strengthen partnerships with students, families, and the community.
